Del Piero Is Staying, Reassures Secco The Bianconeri's captain is currently still negotiating a deal with the Old Lady to extend his stay in Turin, but so far no deal has been sealed.

At the end of the Trofeo Tim tournament at San Siro on Tuesday evening, the Director of Sports of Juventus, Alessio Secco, wanted to reassure the Juventus fans that sooner or later, a deal with Alessandro Del Piero will be reached.

"The fans must not worry," he commented. "The moment to find the agreement will surely arrive.

"It's unthinkable to find an agreement in the first meeting," he continued. "Maybe not even in the second meeting, and there might be others, but surely the moment to conclude will arrive. Juventus want to keep Del Piero."

Even Gianluigi Buffn is hoping that Del Piero soon signs a new deal.

"Alessandro is a symbol of our team, and apart from the rumours I don't think there will be any problems," the Italian national team goalkeeper declared.

When asked about the contract situation, following the Trofeo Tim, Del Piero just smiled and left towards the dressing room without responding to the journalists' questions.

  • donnie soza, madrid 8/15/2007 7:47 PM i agree with koko74... claudio ranieri is a complete idiot. i dont think juve are going to achive any great things with him as a coach. he did nothing in chelsea even after their spending then, when he joined valencia, he single handedly distroyed all the good work what rafa benitez had done there.
